What to Expect

What to expect depends on whether you are attending a face-to-face meeting or a virtual meeting.

  • Face to Face meeting: You will walk into the setting and, depending on what has been agreed beforehand, you will either be greeted by the individual with whom you agreed the meeting with or you will need to introduce yourself to the relevant person (e.g. receptionist).
  • You will then more than likely go to a quiet room where you can have a chat about their recruitment needs, the terms of business, how the process works etc.
  • This also depends on the type of setting you are visiting, if it’s a care home the meeting will more than likely be more relaxed and informal, however,  if the meeting is within a more formal setting (e.g. NHS), you will likely be greeted by several  people and have more of a formal conversation.
  • Virtual meeting
  • You will likely have set up a teams/Zoom meeting between yourself and the client online at an agreed time.
  • Always ensure you arrive promptly to the meeting, preferably 5-10 minutes early to ensure any technical issues that arise can be dealt with.
  • You will then introduce yourself and begin to chat about your services, their recruitment needs, terms of business, how the process works etc.
  • Again, this can vary depending on the type of service you are pitching to, however the contents of the meeting will generally remain the same.
  • If you have arranged a virtual meeting with an existing client,

Note: Don’t forget about your existing clients, arrange to go and see them/have a virtual meeting just to check in, have a catch up and see if anything has changed.
